OK, I have the Slee Hi-Lift mounts on the top of my rack.
But, being how the rack is a lot higher than the one on my 4Runner, I can not heft even a 48" jack up there.

After I get the ARB bumper I may look into mounting it on top of it, but I am wondering is any of the current Kaymar Hi-Lift tire mounts will work.

The bolt pattern for the alloy wheels is 6 on 5.5 I believe, but I am not sure if any in the list above will work or not.
And how do those mounts work?
Are they specific with a certain type of wheel, or do they just fit over the lug studs coming off of the carrier?

It would sure be nice if someone had access to these mounts to test one like at Man-A-Fre or some other shop to let us know.

If one worked, I would place an order pronto.

ditto

Hey, Man-A-Fre just got back to me.
They would need an FJ Cruiser to pop on in to their shop, then they can test one of the Kaymar Hi-Lift mounts since there are a few models.

If the lugs are a 6 bolt pattern, it might fit. The problem in the rim thickness, we don't have a FJ here to try one on. We might get one in soon, then we can try it.

If there is anything I can help with please contact me.

So if you live near them, please contact them and see if they can test one out on your stock 17" alloy.

Bump!

Man-A-Fre will have an FJ in their shop within a few weeks.
But if ya live near by and you have the 17" alloy wheel on the back, please stop by so we can find out NOW if one of the Kaymars will fit or not.

The mount on the tire side is just a piece of flat steel in a triangular shape with three holes in it for three lug studs. If the GSJ mount is flat without any protusions in the middle it should work fine. The only limitation might be whether or not the studs are long enough.

Corey, Just pop off the center cap on your spare. This will show you the metal lip that sticks out on the stock tire carrier. You would have to cut this off for that Hi-Lift mount to work.

No, you won't have to cut off the metal lip, rather you should notch out the plate. I just had to do this on a Blitz can holder bracket I got from ORU. They actually milled out the notch for me after I figured out the exact location. Works great, I don't see why it wouldn't work for the High Lift.

I don't see why it would matter it you cut or notch. The lip doesn't support the rim once the rim it bolted down to the carrier.

I have given up on the rear tire idea.
That is a lotta weight back there.

I ordered some mounts Sunday that are similar to Demello's.

Not mine, but on an Xterra.
