Mike Mudge here. Thought I'd drop by and give y'all an update on the '67 FJ45 that I bought here in Calif. If you were around a few years ago you'll remember I scored this treasure for $500.
I couldn't do the truck justice so I sold it on the internet to a fan and professional restoration guy in Wisconsin. He works at it when he can since he has customers to keep happy when the weather is nice.
Collin has done a spectacular job on it. He removed the I-6 motor that was in the truck because it was one year newer than the truck. Guess the original mill must have worn out. So he found the correct motor and had it totally gone thru.
Toyota used 7 different colors of paint in various areas of the truck and Collin was able to match all parts and pieces in color. All replacement parts are OEM/NOS.
If any of you recall, there was an ugly Sun tach that had been cut into the dash to the left of the speedo. All patched up nicely and stock again.
I have been collecting his pix over the last couple years and thought I'd share them with you. He is ready to get into the interior work currently.
I still have and love my FJ60 w/the 5.7, 350 GMC motor and upgraded Spector 4 spd tranny. It continues to pull, and pull, and pull. Lots of time in the gold country and local rivers.
