Hi guys,

Sorry to barge in your Clubhouse...

I live in Durango and I have bought an 87 FJ60 from Mike Goodknight of Metric Offroad. Anyway, he's been baselining it and generally getting it in shape for me to take delivery of it and it's about wrapped up. I'm having a heck of a time arranging a way to get my butt up there to pick it up.

Are any of you guys coming to Durango in the next couple of days?

Any way I could hitch a ride back up to GJ? I'll augment gas expenditure
and set you up with some Steamworks Beer for the trouble!

I would need to be in GJ during the day as I don't want to stay overnight...
just grab the truck and head back down. I'd take the Dirty Dog (Greyhound)
but they don't come to Durango anymore...

Lemme know! (PM me or post here or both)
Thanks!

If you don't find any help I'll drive down from GJ on Saturday to pick you up for the cost of gas both ways. The Traverse gets 20-24mpg so it wouldn't break the bank like the 100 series would.

Don't do it Jon! He doesn't need another 60!! J/K

Hey Trap, how ya been?

Wow Jon, gracious offer. Thanks. Hopefully someone is coming down of their own volition. I don't want to take a big portion of your weekend from you.

Meh, ~ 7 hours on a Saturday that I didn't really have anything planned, to drive the best section of road in the CONUS. I'd call it a good day out of the house.

Update:

So, I get my father-in-law to take my up to GJ (pretty fun actually, listened to baseball on Sirius XM the whole way) get there, find the place, go over the truck, find some things that could be better, grab some parts from the boneyard, take like 45 minutes-1hour to get the paperwork all settled, hop in, go get an early dinner at the Ale House (Breckenridge Brewery "outlet") then start heading out of town....14 miles out of Grand Junction it pegs the temp gauge and overheats. Call the guy, leave the key hidden outside the truck, ask him to pick it up and make it right, father-in-law and I drive back to Durango w/o the truck. Turns out the thermostat was installed upside down and encrusted with antifreeze crystals. He flushed out the rad, motor and hoses, cleaned the thermo and installed it properly and all seems good now. I have a shipping bid in to have it shipped down to Durango.

Make sure they burp it or it will overheat again.

Whoa dude, shoulda bought a Jeep!

Naw, I'll leave that to someone else....:D

I'm working on selling mine, made a good dent in it today. Good luck with the 60. Anything I can do to help just let me know. Look forward to seeing it and meeting you in person.
