posted this over in chit-chat, but i thought it was fj60-ish enough to go here.

i moved to vancouver last week (huge snow storm the other day which was fun). i was curious to know where you guys north of the 49th go for used parts/pick and pull, auto stores, online retailers for fj60 parts.

i have ordered a thing or two i could not find up here and paid huge brokerage charges. i would like to avoid this if possible in the future.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks and great great forum btw.

See Steve at EBI in Port Moody. There is a wrecker in Vernon that has all the Land Cruisers, Interior Auto Wrecking, but they don't sell things cheaply.

check out ordering from aussie the prices are fairly cheap in canadian bucks I am all for supporting local but sometimes your just can't find the parts......most fj60 stuff can be had readily through uap or reatails, there is alsoa guy in duncan RADD cruisers that may have some good used

Just buy a couple of Cruisers park them in the driveway and pick apart as you need parts.
Even though Canada is the sourse for BJ62's there isn't a huge source of used parts available most of them have migrated south especially the dieslers.
Toyata can supply most parts at a premium cost but the OEM are more reliable than aftermarket.
Napa also can supply most parts cheaper than Toyata.
4x4 auto in Alberta is a good source also and parts ship at a reasonable cost no PST.

Buy from mudders and have it shipped USPS, or pick it up south of the border ;)

if you order from the states .. use USPS like rockdoc said... if you have them shipped ups then they will screw you everytime on brokerage fees... as for parts.. toyota still stocks about 80 percent of oem parts for the 60s and they can get parts out of the states without a charge to you... my parts for my throttle cable came out of california... ended up spending less than 20 bucks... and toyota gives you a 15% discount if the vehicle is older than 20 years...

and toyota gives you a 15% discount if the vehicle is older than 20 years...

Did not know that, will have to ask about that next time I am in to pick up some random things.

the dealership here in victoria gives me that discount.... told me if its 20 years or older... 15% off...

I order my parts from C Dan or other U.S. suppliers and have them shipped to an outfit called "Ship Happens" in Sumas WA, they charge a cheap $4-$5 U.S. per pkg.
UPS, Fedex and alike are great untill they cross the border.
Pop across the line and bring them home yourself.
