so, i'm pretty new here.

my car from college is pretty much on the way out.

A long time ago, my dad and i bought and drove a '72 FJ40 from NC to my house in Louisiana. I drove it around in high school, it was a pretty rough ride, but I loved it none the less as it was always fun to drive and take in the mud on the weekends :)

Fastforward about 6 years and we've garaged it since I went to college in Austin (where I now live) in 2003. It hasn't been driven much since then and I believe we had a tune-up the last year where the engine checks out pretty good.

So with that background aside (and if you're still with me):

I was wondering if there were any mechanics in Austin who've worked on an FJ40 before or does anyone know where I could possibly bring my FJ40 to get looked at/worked on, because I have some money in the bank for either a new car or to fix up what remains on my cruiser.

Thanks and it's great to see a community in Texas for 4x4s :)

Look up Jason at JK Customs. I think he is in Austin. Fix up the Cruiser!

Later,

I think I would fix it but we love cruisers. Rare car getting rarer. Go to club meeting and ask the guys who they like.2 cents Mike p.s. WELCOME

if you mountain bike any, i'll let you know next time we are coming down to ride emma long

Post up to the LSLC Austin chapter. We had a meeting tonight! Lots of good folks who have FJ40 and lots of good recommendations for mechanics.

Welcome to Austin - Mark
