I have a hesition or surge while driving it's like I take my foot of the gas and back on. I just had the motor rebuilt and it didn't do this before.
Any ideas??

does it backfire when it comes back on?
is your engine carburated ?
your engine needs three things to run air fuel and spark
chances are good the air is not getting disrupted on the way into the engine
fuel is probably ok especially if the power and starting are not being affected
so im thinking a bad electrical connection and the spark is dying
go over the electrical connections make sure things are tight, batterycables pos and neg, distributer, wiring on to the starter that kinda stuff remember grounds are just as important as power wires

No backfire and it does have a carb. I just had it set so I know thats ok.
As far as grounds I didn't think about that. I'll check it out
It runs fine and only surges while at a steady speed. Not on acceleration or decceleration.

Steady speed- hi or low RMS's, or does it matter? When its hot or cold? Without knowing I would say vacume leak, points, coil, or fuel filters. Really need more info though

Good luck!

Doesn't matter and it does it when it's hot or cold. Hi & low rpms as long as it's a steady speed makes no difference. I checked all grounds they seem to be tight.

Are you running the SMOG equipment? If so, I would guess a sticky or bad EGR valve or the fuel cut solenoid.

Search those 2 items and you will find the bucking and surging threads.
