Hi,
I know there has been many discussions about starter/battery issues, but I wasn't sure whether my exact symptom was covered. I have a 2002 LC with 35K miles. This morning, I noticed that when I turn the ignition, nothing happens for about half a second before the truck starts up normally. During that slight hesitation, I don't hear anything (e.g., no sound of anything trying to crank). I switched the ignition off a couple of times and tried again, and the same thing happened. Each time, it took only one turn of the key, but there is that half second delay.
I'm hoping that it's not the starter (contacts). The battery is original, and I will likely replace it since we are in Texas and it is about 5 years old. Since I don't have the time and more importantly the skill, anybody got a recommendation for a mechanic in Austin if it requires more than swapping the battery? Thanks in advance!
