Ok, I know the last few days there has been the Whinning power steering thread. Well i did mine and now it is no longer whinning and this is how I did it on my 2004, 100 Series:

1) Took an 11mm socket and removed the three bolts that hold in the reservoir.
2) Removed the reservoir lid
3) Without removing any hoses turned the reservoir upside down and drained it into a small foil pan
4) Cleaned out the inside of the reservoir with a small bottle cleaner and some clean ATF (the best I could)
5) Refilled the reservoir with the correct amount of ATF and bleed the system by turning steering wheel lock to lock a few times.
6) Drove around for a day and repeated and the process but did not use a bottle cleaner just drained the fuild and replaced with new ATF.

Took me about 15 minutes both times and aside from one or two drops of fluid from the funnel no mess at all, no leaks and quite as a mouse. I know i will get some push back from some people but this worked great for me.

Thanks for posting. I'll probably try this before using the Bear Juice.

Quick question--did you see a mesh filter screen that needed to be cleaned out?

Yes, it is at the bottom of the reservoir, if you get a flashlight and look in through the top of the reservoir you can see it. I have no idea how you remove it and clean it? That is why i used a small bottle brush and just did what I could do.

Just FYI, my bolts were 12mm, not 11. But you really don't need to undo the bolts. The whole reservoir just slips out (hold the retaining clip back with a screwdriver). Easy peasy.

What color was your old fluid? Mine was dark brown. New fluid is red. I think I might do this several times.
