I have searched the forum but haven't found any threads that are applicable.

I have a 88 62 with stock suspension. Seems OK, as the roof height is very close to the factory specs. The car came with cheap little 215's and look silly.

I need new tires, don't want to risk getting them too big.

BFG AT in 31 x 10.5 or 30 x 9.5? I do some off-roading (BLM trails) but most of my driving is on LA freeways.

I will upgrade the suspension later but am tired of spending money on this truck right now.

Other than new tires. Because the ones on the truck are not very manly .

I am ordering them tomorrow. What say you?

I'm putting on new tires (and rims) this week, as well. I'm opting for 32s myself. 31s will fit with no problem and will look better, imo, than the 30s. My Cruiser came with 235/75s and they looked way too small. I can't imagine what 215s must look like.

Thanks for the advice, I only wish there was a way to look at them side by side.

OK, 31 x 10.5's Attached is pic of my rig. Like the itty-bitty tires?

Padded bars on top are for transporting my hang glider up to launch.

damn... those are TINY! :D

check the registry thread, in this forum, for a variety of pics with different tire combinations. if you're going to go with 31, you might also want to consider a 265/75-15. it's just a bit bigger (30.7" vs. 30.5") and you can find better deals on that size. treadepot.com had a 265/75-15 toyo open country A/T selling for $86/tire. the yokohama geolandar A/T +2 can also be found at very good prices. i'm picking up a set of BFG A/T KOs at my local BJs Warehouse because no one can touch their price (on a variety of brands) once shipping and mounting are factored in.

31x10.5s will fit your truck without issues, but many tire stores in California will NOT mount a 10.50 wide tire on the OEM wheels. For example, Costco will mount only a tire the same size as the truck was delivered with.

31x10.5 was what I was running b/f my lift. (It was a stock truck other than the tires.) I thought they looked great and preformed well!

FYI you can fit as large as 33x9.5 on a stock truck.

Just had 33x10.5 BFG MT's installed on my stock wagon by America's Tire Co. a couple weeks back and they didn't say a word about puttin' 'em on the stock rims.

Cruiser wagons look SOOOOOOO bad with small tires. They remind me of old geezer trucks.
That thing is SCREAMIN for a lift and tires.
Not to offend, im just stating from an asthetic point of view, It just looks weird to me.
