Hi all. Thanks for this forum and all the contributors.
I'm replacing the rear tailgate (upper gate) gas struts and have a question. The lower end of the original struts attach to the body. The replacement ones I received, however, are wanting to attach at a 90 degree angle to the originals. To explain, there's an L shaped vertical portion of the body in which the tailgate folds when it's closed. The original struts attach to one side of the L crease, and the new ones want to attach to the forward facing side of the L crease. (If you are looking vertically down the axis of the strut on the passenger side, the top end attaches to the side of the tailgate, and the bottom attaches 180 degrees opposite to the body. The new ones are oriented to attach only 90 degrees off and toward the front of the vehicle.)
Any ideas?
Thanks!
