2002 TLC. Power cable to the motor was unplugged by the dealer that said there was a problem when the sunroof opened - something about the glass raising/tilting up on one side when sliding back. I never saw it operate. At that time, the dealer said the motor was working. Don't think they would lie, but you never know. They gave me enough off to cover any issue(s). I was going to tilt the roof, remove the glass and clean and lube the track, but when I plugged the cable back in to the motor, nothing. There is power to the switch and the motor, I checked. Any ideas?

Reinitialization? I was waiting to clean and lube before I tried this.

Is there a way to rule out the switch, jump it/bypass somehow?

Any way to verify the motor being good or bad, other than ruling out the switch and then saying, well, it must be the motor and replacing it?

Thanks for the help

Figured it out, I think. At some time, water puddled or enough residual moisture remained in the collection area and caused the rods to corrode just enough to where they would no longer rotate. Since the motor is thermally protected it pretty much shuts off immediately upon hitting the button. Remedy is to the pull the headliner, motor, rods, and track and clean it all up if possible, if not, then replace as necessary. There is a dissimilar metal issue with these parts, specifically the rods and track.
