This weekend, i switched out my ahc suspension. I need to remove the height control accumulator to be able to install my sliders. (It's the can on the left side of the frame rail). For those of you who've removed this, how did you remove the rear top bolt? I can remove three of the four, but this fourth one is giving me a lot of trouble. Is there a specific wrench to use? I can't get this one off. Please help. (i'm finding that most of the difficult things to fix/remove are the ones with the least amount of access.

cant remember...i know a lot of them were tough....can always cut the bolt head off and not worry about it. :)

how did rest of install go? not heard much since our chat at beginning of weekend...

That's the thing.... i can't even get to the bolt head to cut it off. If i could, i would cut it. I went out again to look and it looks like i may not have to remove all the pieces of the system to install my sliders. I think i can work around the globes but the accumulator can i have to remove. (i bought the three armed supported sliders)

As far as the rest of the install, thanks for you help ron. I was able to finish installing everything. I found myself making life easier for myself by cutting the 1.5 inch hole in the body to get to the shock bolts. I think the toughest part of the rear shock install was getting to the two bolts that held in the line above each shock for the ahc. That was most frustrating. Once that came off, it was easy. Since sunday, the front has settled in and now it's time for me to fine tune everything. I may have to re-index the t-bars. I don't know that i left enough threads in the adjusting bolts. Right now, getting the sliders on and the diff drop on are my priorities. I really don't think pregnant wifey is gonna be able to get into the truck without the aid of a boost or a stool. The sliders will help some. Since the front end of the truck is much lower than the rear (real stinkbug stance) I'm not terribly worried aobut the cv angles. I will install the diff drop before i adjust the t-bars though. I was having a problem with the bolt that supports the diff to the diff drop. I sprayed it with pb blaster on sunday and again today. I will make another attempt at it tomorrow if the weather holds. I'm gonna go out again tonight to see if i can get at the last bolt on the accumulator can. wish me luck.

One of those bolts that hold the diff to that cross support was giving me fits; the one that mounts from the bottom straight up. I soaked in PB Blaster and hit it with the impact gun at 650 ft/lbs...to no avail. Christo recommended at breaker bar with a long pipe on it for lots of leverage. That did the trick.

Yeah... i tried a breaker bar but i only had a 19mm deep socket for a 3/8 ratchet and i broke that. I need to get a 19mm deep socket for a 1/2 breaker bar and hopefully that will do the trick. I tried to cheap out and bought a harbor freight breaker bar that had too much play.... serves me right that it didn't work. tomorrow will be the day.

Definitely a 1/2" breaker bar and I think I used a 5' or 6' cast iron pipe over that. A good breaker bar isn't that expensive and you will use it plenty.
