Hello you guys,,,,,,,,,,,,,Excuse the ignorance but I am repainting this hook below but still can't figure out what it hooks to. I know where it connects but won't reach what I thought was this hook in the other picture. I never owned a cruiser with this piece in it so don't have a clue. Thanks for a lesson in early cruiser 101. Am I missing another piece? lol.

That piece should attach to the rain gutter. Should be two, one for each side the hatch. Never tried them but one of my early hard tops has them. Have you tried lifting the top from where the two pieces meet?

Remember when we discussed this in person? I couldn't figure it out either. If you have latches and hooks for both sides then you are not missing any parts. There is just a little trick to latching those doors in their full upright position.

With your bi-fold doors already resting in the open position on those notched stops in the channel, put one hand on the inside edge of the doors where the hinges are and one hand on the edge of the door closest to you and then push the whole door assembly upward and inward toward the roof. Then while holding the doors up with one hand you can reach in and latch the hooks one side at a time. It's a bit of an awkward process, but you will get the hang of it.
