**nb this is my first post so be gentle!**

I purchased this kit to add remote locking to my cruiser but I think someone did some after marker job to the original central locking module. I've also had some issues with the locking so recently changed the actuator out of the driver door.
I bought this kit 80 Series Landcruiser Plug-and-Play Keyless Remote Entry - https://trailteq.com.au/products/80-series-plug-and-play-remote-central-locking. I know there cheaper versions but I wanted a simple plug and play version.

When following through the instructions I found this where the locking module should be. Anyone able to explain if this is an aftermarket job and what they've done? I assume the white connector in the photo is the original one that went into the missing module.

There is also a chance this is all legit and I am doing it wrong.

that is definitely NOT a factory unit. there goes plug and play

here in the US, the central locking/alarm was a port installed feature, meaning depending on what port and what year the trucks came in, they got a different brain. brain installed under the drivers seat, not in the door like you have. US all had a T harness, where the factory door switches, power, ground, ignition, etc were all intercepted or passed through. a couple connectors in the kick panel and at the ignition switch. vampire taps were used for the TAIL relay and horn.

that kit seems to tap into the wires at the master switch in the drivers door. and what the prior owner did with your wires. yuck. depending on how bad it is, you might be able to put it back to factory, and use your kit. find an EWD for your year/make (check Resources on the site) and start deciphering it all.
