Hey all Travis' 87 4 runner stranded him last night, the short story is after some detective work we have concluded that the distributor is not spinning. Not being a mini truck gut my guess is broken timing chain or gear on the distributor??????

Any help here will be graetly apperciated I could use a repair manuel for this rig also if some has one they don't need I'd rather pay you as Auto Zone.

Anyone who has parts that I might need will also be a great help my number is in the private section.

Oh and the sooner the better this is his dd.

Thanks:wrench::wrench:

Thanks would u call me later so I can come by

Just so happens i've got a 22r double row timing chain, gears, and guides sitting on my shelf if that's your problem

Definately is a broken timing chain anyone have expeience with relplacing one? Advice?

Engine 22re fuel injected

Cacy's repair manual will walk you through it the best. I've also got a manual you could borrow. I'm not sure if the timing chains are interchangable between the R and RE motors but you're welcome to try my extra one if you want

Thanks for the help was going to check compression on the cylinders to see if I'm getting blow by to try and confirm the valves situation with out pulling the head????

Any thoughts

Side note on timing chain, earlier models had double roller chain/sprocket set - much sturdier. Starting in '85? they went to single roller. Change will require earlier timing cover too.

Fix would take longer, but be way more reliable long term.

Thanks Wade looked into it but decided to go back OME and if I get 100K will be more than enough I suspect.
