This is the first time since I've owned Roxie that she has failed to start. I'm hoping someone out there can help me. When I turn the key all I get is a loud clicking/buzzing sound coming from the glow plug relay on the fender well. I've got Dan checking on availability of the part (Nippondenso 056700-5810) but only 1 of 2 relays is still stocked. The truck is a 2/85 BJ60 with the 3B.

I might be getting ahead of myself but what do I do if this part is no longer available? I know on my old gassers when the battery was dying the starter soleniod would make a similiar sound, any chance that this is battery/charge related?

Thanks,
Ron

Get a volt meter and check your batteries first, before going near the glow system as a problem. When you get the truck started check the voltage your alternator is putting out. If (when) your superglow system fails, you can go to a simpler manual glow system. First things first though...check your batteries and charging system.

my gut feeling is that it sounds like a battery issue. it will make the same sound (solenoid) clicking as a gasser. definately check the batteries first and remember that batteries can still show an acceptable voltage and be bad. i've had internal connections in batteries crap out and only when you put a load on them do they exhibit signs of failure.

it still should crank even if the entire glow system is buggered. Contacts in the starter solenoid are usually the first to go.

Thanks everybody, I'll be checking my batteries and alt output this weekend.
