I did a radiator flush earlier this fall, draining the rad, filling with distilled water, running for 5-10 minutes then draining and repeating. I did about 10 flushes and occasionally spilled some distilled water over the engine (nothing much, maybe a cup or so). After these spills, when I'd start the engine, my "filter" and "battery" lights would come on for about 10 seconds. No issues, engine started fine, drove fine, etc...

lights went out and didn't come back on.

The other day I drove through a fairly deep puddle, deep enough for water to splash up on the underside of the rig and the same two lights came on for just a few seconds.

It seems to me that there must be a short somewhere but I don't see any bare wires or faulty connections and the truck runs fine.

Any ideas?

A second piece of information here, that I think is pure coincidence, is that my clutch master cylinder went dry over the two days following the rad flush. I filled it, bled it, and the fluid level has stayed the same every since, so I don't think there is a leak anywhere....is this related? coincidence?

Loose or defective Alternator belt is slippery when wet. Leaky clutch is unrelated.

When ever I intentionally spray the garden hose into the radiator with the engine running, I get a huge blast of water down the RH side(I think) of the engine because of the way the fan spins. Maybe your electrical problem is on the RH side if your fan spins the same way.
