I have had small coolant leak for a bit. Not enough to ever appear on the ground. I decided to clean underneath during my last oil change to help better diagnose. These pics are after running for 15-20mins. Looks like it might be coming from behind the timing cover and making it's way to the alternator bracket. Any thoughts or ideas on most likely source of this leak? Thanks in advance guys.

I had that notion in my head. What is the most common issue on these, water pump starting to fail or gasket/seal finally giving up?

Well, it only makes sense to replace it, and the timing belt, etc when you put in all the labor to get that far.

Before you get too far, take a good look at the thermostat housing and make sure it’s not seeping from one of those connections and finding its way down the block.

Here's my genuine Toyota waterpump purchased from the dealer. 140k miles since the previous timing belt job. It had been leaking for who knows how long but not enough to drip on the ground.

This makes me feel a little better. If it is my water pump, the question how long do I have to prepare. I might have some time.

Thanks no leaks from the thermostat housing, or anywhere visible from up top.
