I am 100% sure that is a New Process 205, the best factory T-case ever put in a light truck. The only problem is it only has a 1.96 low range. They are indestructable.

How does that line up with your rear diff ?

Thanks for the help, It does not have the orig rear axel in it so it lines up perfect, my next post is to try to figure out just what axel is in it. PO did not know. after that its putting in a parking break every now and then I wish I had one?

the 205 has that 3 bolt cover in the middle and the speedo cable is on the left side like yours .if you want more info just google chevy transfer case or np 205 and there will be more than you need to know good luck

Thanks Your righ there is tons of info out there on the 205.

The rear end is 100% Chevy 12 bolt out of a 1970's to early 80's 1/2 ton truck. Preety solid rear end, c-clip axles like the FJ40 had in the rear originaly. Looks like the Toyota brake drums are still on it?

I suppose they put that in so the transfer case would work.

What do you have in the front?

Look into doing a rear disc swap if you want a parking brake. You can buy the brackets and rotor and cadillac calipers for around $250-300.

Thanks for the info, the break drums I think are also Chevy because there is a parking brake on each side, no cable is hooked up also no lever in the cab, when I pull on each lever the feel like they work so I am going to try to rig up a lever in the cab for them(I'm not worried about keeping it orig).

Should be fairly straight forward. Running the cables would be a pain.

It's the cables that make me want to wait for a day when I have nothing else better to do and a 6 pack handy for motavation
