While fooling around under the hood of my 60, i found this fried hose with some build up on one end. It is right above the passenger side wheel well.

Sorry, didn't finish the Post.

Is this something that needs to be fixed right away? (I am thinking not because it hasn't given me any problems yet)
And secondly, How would i fix it? it looks like it is just some hosing, and I have extra of that sitting around.

That looks like the charcoal canister soft rubber hoses. the ethanol in the gasoline dissolves that rubber. My hoses literally became gummy then just disintegrated. I had a very strong gasoline smell, that is how I found the rotten hoses, tracing down the smell.

I replaced mine with some fuel line hose I had laying around.

I don't know if you have to fix it or not? Seemed to me, since I have stock emissions it needed to be a complete loop.

ok thanks. that would explain why i had trouble passing emissions

Just ordered one of them 90 degree hoses from Cruiser Dan last week. The one I had on there was melted completely shut.
