I live about 300 ft above sea level on fairly flat terrain and sometimes my altimeter will read anywhere from -150 ft to 350 ft, even after repeatedly zeroing it back to what it should be. Additionally, my thermometer is rarely even remotely accurate. Anyone have this problem or know of a solution, preferably one that doesn't involve replacing said sensors?

As far as I know, the altimeter is a barometric altimeter and will always be as accurate as you describe. The thermometer sensor is somewhere near the front of the engine compartment, so if you aren't moving it will gain heat from the engine. As long as you are driving, it is reasonably accurate.

My thermometer is usually accurate but sometimes not, and the error that I'm speaking of is NOT related to engine temperature or proximity to a warm engine. For example, it may read in the high 40s when the temp is actually in the low 60s, then a while later or on a different day it may be correct. I've never paid close attention to see when it self-corrects or try to figure out a pattern.

The altimeter is also off by several feet. I live 23 feet above sea level but sometimes get negative readings.

My elevation jumps from 700s to 1500s all the time. It's never accurate.

I find the temp reading in most cars to read high in hot whether especially for the first 10 minutes or so of operation.

My altimeter only seems to be accurate above 1000 feet or so. I'm always reading -150 to +300 near my house, but when I go in the mountains, it's spot on with my Garmin.

I believe @langsen is correct about the altimeter and there is a method of calibrating easily with the buttons for that little computer - sorry don't recall off the top of my head, but yes as a barometric reading it is going to fluctuate and it's intended you reset/calibrate when you have an accurate reading like a sign post with elevation. Though with GPS, etc may not be much need for it these days.
