I know this has been talked about I have read them now when I need it I can't find it. Can someone direct me to the right thread please? Its raining and I don't have a garage!

If its just that you're holding the switch completely "up" to the point where the "auto up" feature clicks on, and the window closes but comes back down half way, just stop pulling up all the way on the switch. In other words, don't activate the "auto up" feature. Pull up gently on the switch just short of the "auto up" click and the window will close and stay closed. Troubleshoot this later though as it's a pain. I know because mine still does this.

It sounds like your power window might be "out of time." Or something is making the system think it's pinching. Has the battery been replaced recently? Has the side glass been replaced?

I know on SOME Toytota/Lexus models, you can manually re-time the window by holding the switch down until the window hits the bottom and keep the switch down for a few seconds after the window reaches the bottom. Repeat the same going up with the window switch. Repeat the process one more time. This may or may fix your problem, but would be the first thing I would try.

I've tried that relearn procedure and it didn't fix my issue. I think I'm actually going to have to reset the stop on the motor inside the door panel. It's going to be a pain so I haven't done it yet. Might work for the OP though.

If worse comes to worse, pull off the door panel and brace the window up with a stick.

He's not having an issue with the window falling....rather is goes up, hits the pinch protection setting and slides half way down under power.
