Hi to everyone in the Austin area.
Im new to the whole Landcruiser scene and have been looking for a local group to help with mainly info, parts, restoration information, stuff like that. I see that there is also a San Antonio chapter as well and i'm actually closer to S.A. but i have friends in Austin (Spicewood actually) and it would be easier just to stay with them when i'm in town.

How do i go about becoming a member?

Thanks for the help

Welcome! As Matt, come to a meeting at Rudys the last Tuesday of the month @ 7.

I see you have a HJ45. Did you by chance buy one from a Sean? If so which one did you get?

Cheers and hope to see you at a meeting.
Jason

WELCOME!!!! Looking forward to meet ya.

Thanks for the invite.

No i didnt buy it from Sean... i actually found this one in a barn 20 miles from my house. I had know about it for years but was able to buy it from the guy a few days ago. Its all original and in good condition for not being driven in 17 years.

Welcome from san antonio! A lot of the off road meets include people from the austin and sa groups.

Got any pics of your rig? details?

Here are a few pictures of it.

C'mon out to the meeting at Rudy's, it'll be great to have you join us. By the way, nice catch on the '45 we all keep our eyes open for 'cruisers like this, good find. Looking forward to meeting ya'

Very cool find! Looks like a good wet cloth and it should shine up pretty good.

Deisel?

Yes, it's a diesel with 77,000 km or about 44,000 original miles. I just bought all new 7.50X16 mud grips to install on the old split rims.

Welcome...you suck! :)

Where in south Texas are you?

Welcome! If you want to talk cruisers for hours...go see Daniel over at Whimberly 4x4 on I-35.
Dan's a good guy and will talk to you for hours.

We also have a huge event in Feb, called the LSLC roundup.

I also think a few of us are getting together for a unofficial meeting next Tuesday at our regular hang out - rudy's bbq on 183 in Austin.

Nice to meet you - Mark

I'll give you $500 for it if it doesn't :)

I have seen that place every time i go up 35 into Austin but i have never stopped by. Good to know there is a mechanic thats pretty close to me. Hopefully i will have the truck running and LEGAL before LSLC.
Marco, I have seen this truck for the past 8 or 10 years just sitting under a pole barn. I would drive past it on my way to repair this guys A/C and alway just thought it was a FJ40. I honestly didnt even know it was a pickup untill we had made the even swap (the truck for a A/C) so i was kinda shocked to see it was a truck. I was thinking..."I just got the shaft on this deal". It wasn't untill i posted on this forum that i had run across a fairly rare truck... and sorry dave... think i'll keep her. :flipoff2:

Damn, a real live barn find. Congrats man!
