Hello all,

Although I haven't used the site often, you guys do a great job.

I knew I wanted a 100 to replace my aging Buick Century. I was thinking I was going to have to wait until spring but one came up on craigslist yesterday for what I thought to be a good price ($3900.) It is a '98 black and tan, 305k miles. Went to check it out today and I managed to take it home for $3400. It does have some body rust, passenger rear door, tailgate, but it's still better than what I am driving now. I wasn't really looking to buy but it seemed like a pretty decent deal. Yes, I have heard that the cheapest ones frequently don't stay that way.

After searching the site I found the answer to my first concern, the oil pressure gauge reading 1/4 at idle and 1/2 on power... The illustration in the owners manual really clears it up haha.

I'm currently flipping between writing this and reading about replacement keys and key fobs, that's the next task.

The truck drives really well, there is some chatter from the suspension on rough roads, ball joints? Either way it'll need to get up on a lift and checked out front to back.

Thanks for all that you guys, and girls, do. There is a great wealth of knowledge here for a noob; I'm looking forward to being part of such a great community.

I don't really care for that stuff, I think it seals the rust in... I know nothing of it though. I am going to hit the frame and doors of the truck with Fluid Film before we get salted roads.
