I have almost compleded a diesel re-engining of a Lexus LX450(FZJ80) vehicle. The engine is a Japanese 1HD-FT with ECU controlled EGR emissions control. This has been discussed in a previous thread titled DIESEL CONVERSION.
It appears I need to obtain an Electric Wiring Diagram manual to address some remaining niggly issues. The RHD UK spec one would be best.
So, does anybody have the EWD available for loan, sale or perhaps a part number of the manual so that I can order one from Toyota.

Thanks,

I'll be in Nelson, BC next Wednesday if you need to source this in the US and don't want to mess with shipping.

Thanks for offer Doug, but I think the manual will have to come from Europe as it's diesel specific.

Jim,
PM Jim Phillips. He's in the UK, frequents here in the 60 section. He may be able to help you get one.

We are anxious to hear more about this conversion.

If you can't get Jim, let me know. I'll be in the UK later this week for a bit.

Junk,
thanks for the contact, I'll PM him and see what happens.
The swap is working really well. This past week I averaged 22.6 US. mpg on a round trip to Tacoma, Wa. These were I-5 freeway miles but did experience Seattle's rush hour down and back.

1hd-ft

A cruiser with a 1hd-ft on I-5, and I didn't get to hear it! I spend a good portion of my life on I-5, in the north of seattle area. That is why 22mpg sounds great. What was total cost of parts to do this swap? How is the noise at highway speed? Does it feel like it would tow as well as the 1fzfe?
Thanks,
Carl

Hello Carl,
The cost of the swap is approaching $16,000 CAD with hardware being $10,000 of it.
At highway speed there is very little difference from the 1FZFE tho' it snorts more on hard acceleration. For exhaust I had a custom pipe made from the Turbo to the Cat back portion of the stock exhaust. From there I used the stock exhaust. The factory diesel pipe
of the part I replaced has a resonator which I didn't include so I expect its somewhat noiser that stock. I'm planning on installing a intercooler and at that time I may go for a three inch exhaust.
Regarding towing, I haven't done any yet although I think that woud be the diesel's forte.
The FT engine has a little more maximum torque but has a much broder torque band than the 1FZFE.
I live in White Rock, BC, just across the border from Blaine, Wa. If you're coming up this way let me know and we'll go for a spin.

sounds good

I am familiar with the Whiterock area. I am only about an hour or so away! I think I might take you up on that sometime.
Thanks,
Carl
