The way you describe it, it sounds much more like a CV issue.

Did you at any point get a flashing stability control light?

That's what I thought as well. It felt more like a "catch" than a lost of steering control. But it hasn't resurfaced since I put the new bushings in. I never got a stability control light.

I haven't looked at it yet, but I wasn't getting any noise or play. I figured I'll have a chance to re-grease and inspect when I do the half shafts.
