Hi folks. I'm looking for recomendations for a heavy duty clutch for my 74 which has a 13B-T diesel and H55F gear-box. Suppliers in Europe would suit best. Thanks.

Either a Clutch industries 4terrain or a Exedy Safari Tuff.
I hear the 4terrain is tougher....

I've got a 4 terrain, not entirely happy with it, though my car has way more torque than stock and I run 35'' tyres. It doesnt disengage that well and shifting isn't great unless your used to it, and it slips when given a hard time in low range 3rd.

What are you planning on switching to?

What is wrong with the OEM clutch?- they last about 200,000 km

Well when I want to turbo and intercool
my 1hz to about 14psi I hear an upgraded clutch copes with the added hp quite well

Car is no longer a daily driver so I will deal with it and take it a little easier in low 3rd, any replacement would be around $700 for the clutch alone, I cant justify that at the moment.

fair enough. What are your other replacement choices?

Im still happy with my Exedy Sports Tuff after 75000klms although I probably dont work it as hard as you

Exedy seems to be a good choice and the brand is available here in Ireland. Thanks for the Info.

What are you guys paying for the Exedy Sports Tuff, just the cover/pressure plate and disc

I dont think you can buy them like that ,they only come as a complete kit with thrust bearing. I paid about $500 but I also bought a good quality uni joint at the same time.
So I guess the kit on its own was $460AUD. I got mine when they were 1st released and have since seen them cheaper.

The biggest benefit is the way the clutch pads are shaped to cut down on the diesel GRRRR as you accellerate.
The manager at the toyota parts desk offered me a toyota kit at the same time for about $600 but he admitted the Exedy was probably a tougher clutch.

That is in the ballpark I was quoted. The problem is that air shipping from Oz to the west coast of North America (Canada) adds another $300 to that. I would be content with using slower cheaper Sea Mail, but they do not use tracking numbers, so if it does not show up - I guess I am out of pocket..

Spoke to Exedy U.K. today. They don't supply the safari or sports tuff clutch kits in Europe. Can get standered kit for 415 euro + 23% sales tax from Exedy agent in Ireland. Does anyone in Aussie know of a dealer who would ship to Europe.

Can you get insurance?

I have dealt with both of those vendors for odd and end stuff for my Troopie that the N.A vendors couldn't get.

They are great to deal with, I'd say that RooDogs usually has a little better priced shipping quotes. I have a box from them to pick up from the ppost office today as a matter of fact:grinpimp:
