One thing I do not enjoy about my 94 LC in Colorado is that I have to run the heater full tilt at 11 on defrost to keep the windshield clear during snow. The interior gets blazing hot and very uncomfortable or my windshield and wipers freeze over and I can't see.

Does anyone have any experience with adding heated wiper blades? I'm debating trying a set this winter and curious if others had done so.

Thank you.

Never seen them installed on a cruiser but my brother swears by these. Said the install couldn't be easier.

Might be easier to heat the fluid - that's the setup my Audi has.

I would love it if there were front windshields with heater elements available for our trucks, that's the ultimate solution in my opinion.

Interesting. I looked into heated baldes a couple of decades back for a previous employer, a heavy truck garage. The one's then just weren't ready for primetime, but these look like a well-engineered product. May have to look into a set. Replacement blades are $60 each. Makes me wonder about swapping them in just for winter or if running regular replacement blades in the heated arms is possible during the summer?

Do you turn on your AC during that time? The AC on with the heat on high and defrost will DRY the air so it stops it steaming over and icing up.

Most other vehicles AUTOMATICALLY turn on the AC when you turn it to defrost, you just know it did it.

On these, every system is separate.

Turn it to:
Defrost
Recirculate
AC on
Heat slider on high
Fan on high until it clears
Don't need to turn on the rear heat unless you need it for other passengers

You may need to check that your blend doors are properly actuating as well.

I think he's talking about ice/slush buildup on the wipers. If it's snowing hard, it does take a lot of heat to keep the lower part of the windshield clear so the wipers don't clog up. When I brush the snow off mine I take special care to completely clear the lower windshield area before starting to drive.

Yes thank you all and the problem is indeed the accumulation of slop on the outside that then freezes the wipers and windshield.

Ha! Customer just saw this link and is having a set shipped over for his truck build so I’ll see them soon enough.
I know i am in GA but i want to know how it works out if you don't mind.

I just plug my rig in and run the defroster I wish my rear window defroster was functional
