Last year I made a pair of shock bushings for the rear upper mounts out of a rubber stopper from Ace hardware. The driver's side has held up fine but the passenger's side has disintegrated again. I think exhause heat has something to do with it as the pipe runs within a food of the bushing.

Where can I find some heat-resistant bushings or rubber to make a suitable bushing?

I think you need something more than just heat resistant. Those bushings live a hard life. And, they are pain to replace. From the parts list I use, it looks like the OEM upper cushions are 90948-01064 and are only $6.37 each. Might be your best bet in the long run. (Check that part number with your dealer to make sure it's correct.)

Also, I assume polyurethane will be more durable than plain rubber...
