I have a problem with my cruiser "overheating". I will be driving down the road at a good clip and then I will notice my gas gauge start to rise and then my heat gauge will start to rise with it. I then will take my foot off the gas petal and with in a couple of seconds both gauges drop to where they are supposed to be and I am once again on my way. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem might be. Thanks.
good news, 99% chance your not overheating at all, what you are seeing is the VERY common temp/fuel guage spike(fj60 and fj62 both do it) both guages share the same ground(in the fuel guage)
to fix, remove cluster, remove the fuel guage and clean(llightly sand) the contacts(almost like a set of points) in the fuel guage. If this doesnt work(and it didn't for me) buy a new fuel guage($40) and your problems will be gone.
