I am currently on a company sponsored plan that recently increased the premiums to non-affordable levels. The company pays 1/2, and yet I am faced with a $225/week deduction for the 4 of us. This is crazy....

Help please.

As crazy as that is I know people paying even more.

Obamacare sure fixed healthcare!
Now those of us that work get to not only pay for our own but all the people getting "subsidies" as well.

Mine hasn't gone up much yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Hope you are able to find something.

Wife retires end of this month and we are going on COBRA for the next eighteen months. You don't want to know what that will cost. Not cheap but great insurance. After eighteen months probably cost more until Medicare kicks in. My previous employer had planned on dropping the retiree's health insurance starting last January and was going to help with getting insurance thru the Market Place. The idea was having options of cheaper insurance. The fact was it was going to cost more. The idea was scraped and kept the retiree plan.

I just looked through healthcare.gov and with a family of 3 the best plan (low deduct able, low max out of pocket) was 600 a month. It seems that the affordable care act is anything but affordable.

Well, hopefully you don't need the insurance for a very long time; but, you'll be glad you have it if you need it. Not sure about whether Obamacare is good, bad or ugly, just trying to look on the bright side.

I pay for my families plan because my wife and I are self employed. Mediocre coverage from BCBS AZ with high deductible, high copay, etc. The plan I had in 2015 was pretty good but of course it was eliminated. My coverage for 2016 has higher deductible and higher co-pay for more money. Payment went up $100 per month. I am paying around $1400 per month for the 5 of us. If you add up what my new out of pocket costs will be, based on past history of my family, I am looking at around $2000 more per year. Monthly prescriptions went from $15 per month to $80 per month. The only saving grace is that I can deduct the premiums from my business income.

Obamacare wont go on because it can't go on because its not financially viable. The question is what will it be replaced with ??

It will go on until every last drop of blood is sucked from working middle class people. Only other option is elect people that actually care about working middle class families and that is unlikely to happen. Even if someone like that ran they would most likely lie just like all the rest.

It's funny because every time you hear politicians talk they say it's working great. I just can't figure out what planet they are living on because everyone I know is being screwed.

That's cheap. Last time I was quoted was pre ACA. The cost was $950/mo with a $5k deductible for me only. That was for continuing coverage with no preexisting conditions calculated.

Because it's working great for THEM. It's free, paid for by the taxpayer, and it's the best (our) money can buy (for them). It's a godamn racket.

How's that "Hope N Change" BS working out?

Feel like I am at the proverbial craps table waiting for the roll of dice for the lucky option to come really soon. Soon enough to beat financial ruin. Option 2, is the bigger gamble, cash out and pray everyone stays healthy.

Curious has it been 50/50 on the premiums or is this something new? Also how many employee are at your company?

I just turned 55, this was the explanation for this recent increase. Just my family and the owner's son's family on the plan. Word from the provider is another 50 percent increase by this fall.

Yes I am still researching this, even though our rate just went up to $2200 a month for the four of us.

After a 45 minute conversation with our primary care doc, stay away from the ACA enrollment if possible, most docs are bailing and one can not choose their doctor of choice (this will be handed to a nurse practitioner). The insurance companies are bailing as well. After gutting medicare (anyone have a elderly parent, ask them about out of pocket expenses lately). The ball rolls downhill on who foots the bill.

United is pulling out of the ACA from what I have been told by the end of the year, but will still carry personal family policies, the only option so far.

BC/BS wont offer policies in Maricopa and Pinal counties next year.

Every year its a cluster $&#.
