Hey all, had our LX for about a month, been great so far. We have the invision dvd players in the headrests, however they seem to not be hooked up. I followed the black wires underneath the seat, they are just zip-tied, no connectors or anything. Id like to have them up and running for the kiddos, what's the easiest way to go about this? Id rather tackle it myself then take it into the stealer or an audio place. Im sure it will require seat removal, it looks a tad snug already. Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks

Matt.

Maybe this will help from the Lexus forum.....

2006 LX470 InVision Rear Dvd Problem - Club Lexus Forums

Thanks for the reply. I did read that post actually a bit ago, problem I have is I have no M/F connectors. I'm on the fence of hardwiring it, vs getting the adapters. I'm confused why the monitors are installed, but no connectors were made. Wasn't this an OEM option? That post says aftermarket.

Easier to pull the console first and look around for the control box the wires plug into. The wires from the headrest should be routed under the sides of the console trim to meet up with the control box. No need to pull the seats. I can't believe anybody would have installed just the headrests, but I suppose it's possible.

If you need any parts, call InVision. Guy there was super helpful and sent me a wire that had been cut by the e-brake handle, no charge. I'm sure he could help you fill in any missing pieces to get the system up and running.

Both of the seats have these wires running. Are these the connectors, or am I missing those? Where exactly is the control box located so I have a better idea.

Looks like the connector of the ones that I yanked out of my LX:

my control box is still bouncing around under/inside the center console somewhere.

(I was just happy to get the headrests out, because I was tired of hitting a bump, having the screen pop out of its latch and rattling like crazy.)

Those are the wires. There is one set of white/red for one headrest and another set of blue/black for the other headrest. The wires in the seat that come down from the headrest connect to another set of the same color that run under the console base plastic and head up to the control box. There are some color-coded flat plugs that plug the wires into the control box. Otherwise, it's a pretty generic looking black plastic box a little larger than a deck of cards, if I remember right. Mine was rattling around loose near the gear shifters. The plastic for the console pops apart pretty easily. Pretty simple to dig around and take a look.

This seems super bizarre. I pulled the center console, just the rear half though, not under the shifter. Looked all over for those wires, and control box...to no avail. Couldn't find any connections under the seats or leading to the center console. I feel that the headrests were just installed perhaps and nothing else. Im taking it into the dealer for an airbag recall, and see if they will be able to sort anything out.
