This is probably a waste of time and money but I painted the ceiling with crc zinc.

Actually I used zrc cold galvanizing compound. Not crc.

I'm going to use so left over carpet as a headliner.

I'll use 3m 90 hi-strength contact adhesive sprayed heavy on the back

I put so much zinc on the ceiling that in a millennia from now it will be the only thing left standing on top of a pile of red dust.

In the aerospace industry we call the process passivation. It removes free iron from materials that were left there by the cutting tool during the machining process.

This Ospho product seems to do the same thing for the home hobbyist.

I was thinking I would have to take the glass out to install and wasn't up for that. I figure that I can always go back and a proper install if I feel confident.

I' m just slipping the sections under the beams.

About a year ago I ospho'd the metal on the back of the rear bench seat and left it exposed without painting just to see how it would fare. In all it did very well but I did notice some surface rust recently. I repeated the ospho treatment, wiped off the excess to be sure the surface was dry and then lightly sprayed it with enamel.
