Hi guys. I have been reading this board for a few years when I bought a '04 LX. Thanks to everyone here, I have been able to solve most problems I have encountered and have passed on some knowledge to some mechanics I have used.

I bought my LX off ebay from a lawyer from who owned a car shop where they did some strange electrical modifications - like numerous black boxes and extra wiring harnesses that fall out from under the driver's side dash and fall on my feet.

He also modified the factory projector headlights to have HID's. There are ballasts lying (not secured) in the engine compartment, easily 50 ft of wire bundled up, extra fuses, and some other black boxes that I do not know what they do. All the boxes whine for a few minutes after I shut the engine off which is annoying, but I have never cared to mess with any of it until a few days ago the passenger side light turned pink and now it is completely out.

That brings me to my questions:
Should I yank everything out and go back to a factory set-up, if I can?
or
Should I try to put a new bulb in the current setup?
or
Is it a bad idea to pull everything out and buy new headlight assemblies since the lenses is fogging up?

I've read multiple headlight threads but my situation is a little unique. Any help or advice is appreciated.

I would suggest one of two things. 1. If your factory wiring is still there you can throw in a nice set of halogen bulbs. Like PIAA.. 2. You can buy a high quality HID kit and tear out all the old stuff and put the new in.

Im with you though on sketchy wiring, scares the hell outta me! If I were in your position I would be removing every sketchy piece of wiring in that cruiser.

So I have ripped out all the extra wires under steering well that fell on my feet. Appeared to be a remote start system.

Now I have pulled passenger side HID system that stopped working. For the time being I am going to throw some OSRAM Night Breakers in, but I have 2 wires coming into the headlight assembly through the gray cap - one green and one black. I'm not sure which one goes into the bulb and my search results on this topic have proved worthless. Anyone have a quick answer?
