Headlight relay harness

On the 'to do list' because it seems like a useful upgrade... Improving my headlights - and after a bit of search and read I understand that a separate wiring harness is also recommended?

Hate to be cheap..... But I am! Since I'm saving for power steering I wanted to do the headlight upgrade for as little as possible so my QUESTION:

*Anyone used this China made harness?

If you go led then the standard wiring is fine. You can do the full led conversion or led bulbs in an H4 housing. you only really need the relay if you are using high wattage halogens.

I made one of these myself and it was a great upgrade for running H4s but when I switched to LED I had to go back to using the stock harness to get everything working right. The current draw is so low for LEDs that it wasn't a big deal.

LMC Truck has a good one and the guy painting my nova gives them a high recommendation, though you'll have to double check the lengths:

I bought the pigtailed ceramic plugs off Ebay and wired them to the relays. You don't need the whole harness if you have your own source for wire.

I normally do this....b/c I upgrade my old cars to E-Code lights. Buy good Bosch relays on Amazon and buy what wires/connectors I don't have leftover from other projects. I solder and shrink wrap every connection and nicely wrap the wires. Routing and concealment is also important. It always turns into more work then you think to make it look right and not cut corners.

For the FJ I bought Peterson LED headlights.......no wiring required and not that much more expensive then a really good E-code setup with bulbs, wiring, time, etc. They wouldn't look right on some of my other cars but good enough on the FJ.

I used a similar harness from Ebay on my 72. Cost less the $15 with shipping from china. Can't buy the relays and sockets for that price from the auto parts store. I just installed it last week so time will tell on the quality...
