Hello,
I have an 01 Land Cruiser.
I wanted to put new headers on, but its pricey. I'm not opposed to paying for the benefits of it though. My question is about the system from the headers back. If I keep the stock headers and redo the pipes with less restrictions (larger diameter and no muffler), how much increase will I get from doing just that?

If I have the money to do headers and pipes, should I just go ahead and get r dun all at once?

thanks!

If you check out the TLC FAQ, you will find actual dyno test results for the LandCruiser for the DT headers and then a complete exhaust replacement.... that's about the best comparative data that I've ever run across that is specific to these trucks.

EDIT: CanadianRockyCruiser beat me to the response by a fraction of a second!!! :)

Yes, I've seen the info on those links.
I am not confident on going with EMS given the inconsistent reviews of them. Is it worth going with EMS now?

I was asking about the gains from doing the pipes only.

luckily EMS is not an option...... the DT headers I think are the biggest gain, got mine ready to go on next week. I did the DT catback and as long as you're oaky with a bit of growl and light drone it's sure to put a smile on your face..... but the butt dyno tells me my ears are lying about it being significantly faster.....

the DT does replace the Y-pipe that I noted as one of the limiting areas along with the crimp over the axle.... so sort of high flow cats those two likely cover the avail gains....
