Hey all,

I am headed to Ralph Hayes Wednesday 3/22 to get the starter on my 98 TLC replaced. (Self Diagnosis: The starter will not immediately turn over when its cold). I took Alex's advice and called Rick who gave me a good UC price on parts and labor.

It's always sumthin!

Sorry to hear that David, especially given your last couple of weeks with Cruiser costs. Alex sent you in the right direction though.

It's too bad the guys over at Jim Barkley don't have more of a Cruiser customer base, that would be much more convenient for you.

You're right, it's always something. I have excel spreadsheets running right now for things I need done!

I drove by there today......still FJ Cruiserless.:frown:

Yeah you are def going to a top notch parts guy. Rick is tha man!!!!

Hey David, Tell Rick hello for me. I used to be his no.1 cruiser customer but now just one of the girls. Alex has assumed the new role of STMOC. "Spending Too Much On Cruiser"
LOL!!

Thanks all!

I will say hi for all of you and ask to visit the vault containing Alex's money. If there is a new FJ there tomorrow, I will let you know after the "test" drive.

I figure I'll be there from 10 am until 12 - - about two hours for this job (starter buried deep in the works of the 100). So, all of those who have driven up to NC for the last two UC events, you are getting sweet payback since Ralph Hayes is 2 hours from my house.

Those starters are bad to get a "dead spot" on them.
They can replace the contacts but while that bad boy
is removed it is better to replace the starter in total.
BTDT recently.
Rick will treat you right and save you some $ too.
Pickens ain't far off. Lunch?

David H.,

I just got back and got your message. I would have loved to have lunch with you!

They replaced the entire starter with a "reman," which is from Toyota (or at least an approved vendor), which I think is good. Rick treated me very well and I got a better deal than any I have seen on Mud on this particular project. The last starter lasted 141000 miles, so I am very happy.

See you guys at Powdersville Sonic (wherever that is!).

Ya gotta love the Rick and Ralph. I always say they are the best
reward for membership. :)
See ya at Sonic, hopefully.
