Head Unit Restart While Driving

Anyone have their head unit reboot while driving? Happens every once in awhile but no idea what triggers it. Sometimes Bluetooth music sounds like it’s playing at 3/4 speed. Any ideas/fixes are appreciated. Thanks!

I was thinking that possibility but replaced less than a year ago. Wonder if dashcam has a draw when vehicle is not running although it's only supposed to come on when triggered. Thanks a check terminals and voltage

I’d take it to a parts store - mine was passing home “tests” but had a bad cell that would act up if I was under load (climbing a hill) and firing up AC on a hot day

It depends how it was installed. Usually, they do not have internal voltage sensing circuits to shut themselves down. Some have but the implementation is not great. I would not install any of them on an un-switched circuit.

I was talking about the dashcam not the head unit, unless your definition and mine of the dashcam is different.

My head unit will reboot on long drives. For me, it has been doing that pretty much since the vehicle was new so I don’t think my issue is related to the battery. Seems like glitchy software but I am not sure.

Try this: delete all BT phones in the truck's memory. Delete truck from phone's memory. Make fresh connection, but DO NOT enable 'contact sync' during the phone pairing process. This procedure fixed a nearly constant infotainment reboot issue. (2008 LC 200 w/ late-model Android phone; this version of the LC does not have the BT music profile, only phone)
