Any way you can tell if the head has been replaced on a 1kz te engine? Mine is not showing issues however I am curious. Thanks.

Same, I just picked mine up with 210k KM, A maintenance tag shows the timing belt has been done recently, I have been daily driving it for 2 weeks now and it runs perfect, I find it very fun to drive and the torque and acceleration is great. Don't want to jinx myself but I bought the Prado with the understanding the cracked head could be a thing. It seems like it would have happened by this mileage if it was going to. Would be nice to know if it has already been replaced. I wonder if it was more common on the LJ's and the reputation followed with the newer 1KZ engines?

Yeah I feel like mine would have been replaced by now. has about 234k Km on mine. The head looks pretty clean. I have already been looking at replacements just incase.

I feel like the lj is where the bad reputation comes from too. I am loving the torque and acceleration coming from a 3fe powered fj80. and not to mention the drastically better fuel economy! I will miss the 80 but the kzj78 is a good substitute.
