I thought I would do a review of a recent headlight replacement for my fj60. The headlights have always been sub par, if you asked me but what do I expect for something over 30 years old. I saw some 7" toyota replacement headlights at a recent land cruiser show hosted by Toys on the Rocks in Placerville. They were made by Roundeyes and they looked incredibly sexy compared to stock hellas. So I ordered them. The link is as follows:

They cost me about $123 with shipping.

I took photos before and after for both standard and hi beams. These photos are not in the snow but typical desert environment. I am sick looking at a snow back drop for showing lighting performance. Of course they will look better when they can be reflected off of snow.

Overall, they are slightly better than the stock Hellas. The Round eyes are more white light and slightly brighter. The original lights are more yellow in color. The Round eyes look a lot better than the stock lights, even though I anticipated better performance. Judge for yourself, but I am happy with the purchase.

Have you considered a wiring harness upgrade? I have the Hella upgrade with stock wiring, and they are better than the old
Sylvania sealed beams. So for entertainment I mounted a set of Hella lights in an off road housing and wired through separate
relays. The difference was apparent immediately.
The round eyes do seem to have a sharper white though.

I tried to order some new 7" lights from round eyes for my fj40 but they are discontinued and no longer in stock.
