Head light question

In the main headlight assembly there is a separate small light by itself on the outside before fog and turn signal assembly.
Either side of mine light-up and I don’t now if these are running lights, parking lights or what. Frankly I’m not sure if mine are burnt out but they don’t come on in any setting. It’s been raining and I haven’t checked with a meter yet. Could someone shed some light on what these light are?

Is this on a LX or LC?
Do they flash when you use your keyless entry?

Mine is a 98 LC. I'll need to check if they blink when security is activated???
The light it self sits behind an umbrella in it's own cell and is very, very small. I'm thinking parking or something.

Yeah, those lights blink on mine when I unlock and lock my doors. They come on with the parking lights. Not really sure of their actual purpose in a lighting sense, though. Seeing as they aren't very bright.
