I am going to take the head to a local machine shop to have it resurfaced just to err on the side of caution but I would like to get your opinions on sourcing the parts for the rebuild. Any recommendations would be great!

Also great videos on the Youtubes from OTRAMM for the tear-down

If you order the whole Toyota head gasket kit from partsouq plus the gaskets for oil cooler and oil pump cover, its not much more than if you ordered whatever aftermarket kit from rockauto.

This is what I ordered to do full reseal. The gasket set comes with almost everything but a few things. I THINK thats all you need but verify for yourself.

It was about 320 shipped

If you want to buy it stateside, Wits End has them too:

Buy the gasket kit beforehand so you’ll have the valve stem seals for the machine shop. Take the head with the cams so they can adjust the valves. There’s no better time.

If your intake is full of crud, take that and have them run it through their cleaner.

This is the perfect time to replace any old parts - hoses, wires, radiator, fan clutch, tstat, etc.
