Anyone have pointers on long range purchase? My Bank wants the title before they issue the loan. The car is in Dallas and I am in Abilene. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

well, hopefully the bank will accept a faxed copy of the title, most sellers won't part with the actual title until payment in full is in hand. ask the seller to fax you a bill of sale and copy of the front and back of the title so you can get your bank to process the loan. they should issue a cashiers check made payable to the seller and give to you. then you go get the car and if there are any problems you don't hand over the cashiers check.

good luck, and congrats!

I've bought several cars out of state. I had the owner fax the bank a copy of the title and a copy of the bill of sale. That was enough for the bank to cut a check..oh and they also wanted the insurance info'./

Hope this helps.

You might need to demonstrate a clear title . But it even takes up to 2 weeks for a title to clear after it is paid off .. and it works it's way thru the banking system . So in that time it will show a lean perhaps .

Get on a plane (one way , hopefully) , with the money in esgrow . Go and take the truck to a dealership for an inspection . If you are satisfied , then release the money to him .. and drive home .
