i was just wondering what the major difference is between them and FJ/FZJ80 besides the fact that they are turbo deisel. the only pages of info i can find on them are in japanese so that doesn't help me. if someone has the specs, standard and/or optional features they came with from the factory, pics, anything of that nature on the HDJ81 it would really make my day. i was thinking of getting an imported HJ61 when i'm done school but since these things will be able to make their way over from japan starting in 2005 i was wondering if i should hold out and get one of these imported instead. thanks,

depends if you consider right hand drive major or minor :D

as for options, almost everything under the sun, winchs, coolers, dual AC, ect ect.

for an idea, go to Yahoo Auctions Japan........can use babelfish to translate, just start looking at the 80's for sale...........that will at least keep you busy for awhile :D

He's Canadian and the HJ61 he was probably looking at was probably also RHD. They are getting all the nice low mileage ones out of Japan up there.

RHD doesn't really matter to me. i've driven a few RHD vehicles before, it will take some getting used to, mainly with the turn signal and windshield wiper sticks being on the opposite sides, a standard RHD would be a little more difficult. you're right genericfj80, a lot of the hj61s around here don't exceed 110,000 kms, some have as low as 69,000 kms! i'll start taking a look on the yahoo auctions i guess.

ummm yeah duh I know(assumed) that :D but he did ask what was different and that sure is :flipoff2:

John................who didn't just fall of the HZJ78 turnip truck

When I lived in ***uoka, Japan you could get just about any RHD car converted to LHD for about $1000 and like the other person said use bablefish to convert Japanese pages to English, I just got a smoking deal on a Panasonic 2 din CD/MD player (860,000 yen = $900) for $150 on ebay by using bablefish to see the specs. :)

It must have been many moons ago (before WWI?) since you were in Japan.:)

At current exchange rate 860,000 would be something close to $8000US).:)

Sorry, I couldn't resist:D
