I have a lockup torque converter switch from my 1993 HDJ81 for sale. I installed it when I towed a trailer with the cruiser, now I have a one ton Dodge to tow the new BIGGER trailer so I removed it from the 80.
Basically when your truck drops out of overdrive when towing up a hill and your transmission starts to heat up, you engage this and it manually locks up the torque converter to keep temps down.
