My speedo cable snapped and all the ones available on ebay.com.au or elsewhere are for manual transmissions and are too short (figured that out the hard way). Not sure if a US-spec 90-92 80 would work but figured I'd check here before getting one made. The part number is 83710-60220 (1990 HDJ81 JDM RHD auto trans) and yeah, I've called/emailed just about every parts department website, including UAE / Japan warehouses. Located in Los Angeles and will gladly pay shipping/handling.

Hey, I looked up your part number on JP parts and yes that part number is discontinued. It does list a few others on there for ATM HDJ81, based on from - to year built. One lists a L= 1765 which I assume is a length. I cant imagine they would change that much for a RHD HDJ81 ATM unless you have a PTO. Hope this helps.

For what it's worth, I found the replacement part number via JP-parts. The new part number is 83710-60182 and it's readily available...

If you aren’t able to come up with a new one let me know, I’ve got used HDJ81 cables on several parts trucks in my yard.

Thanks! Found multiple sellers carrying the new part number. Cheers!

I need a new speedo cable, but while I was down there I pulled and checked my drive gear, it looks fine, but there's a little play in the gear assembly which is held in by that tab into the transfer case (I can jiggle it around it's rotational axis a bit, not in and out). Guessing this is normal?
