WTB: HDJ81 or HDJ80 Owner's Manual

My 1990 HDJ81 didn't come with an Owner's Manual. :crybaby:

I'm looking to beg, buy or copy an English language HDJ81 or HDJ80 Owner's Manual.

Any readable condition, original or reproduction, hard copy or soft copy, I want to use it not "collect" it.

Thanks, -Steve

I have the FSM for:
1HD-T Engine,
Oz spec Chassis and Body,
US spec Wiring, and
A440F Repair Manual (I didn't know I was getting A442F at the time)

They're great for explaining what to do; but don't say when to do it... I'm really looking for the service schedules.

Many thanks, -Steve (I like manuals... a lot!)

i have not forgot , just have not had time yet, i'll get you the data you need :D (i'm at work now(and have been) and i wont be home til next week sometime)

regardding your inquiry about scheduled maintenance, every HDJ-80 should have an oil and oil filter change every 5K Km fuel filter every 10K Km check the diff oil every 5K Km and grease every 5K Km or less depending on driving conditions...it says so in the manual. I own a 1995 1HD-T with an automatic trans and have the original manual at hand, mine is in Km thou so you'll have to make the corrections to miles. If you happen to come across a Chilton's would be very helpful for the trans questions.

I've been looking for the same thing but I've more or less put together a pretty decent maintenance schedule from several sources. I have an Ellery manual but no schedule per se in there. The oil change interval varies in different publications from 5-10,000 km for what that is worth. From oil analysis posted on this board I think 10K intervals are ok. That's what ATEB recommends.

still searching, back to the first page...

I think Steve is after something in the way of a glove box owners handbook not so much a body/chassis/Engine repair manual.

Yup, thanks Sheldon

I have the 1HD-T FSM, chassis manual from Oz, '91 FJ80 elctrical from US, A440 repair manual, and shop manuals by Gergory and Ellerey. I have a lot to learn, and like reading; much cleaner than real wrenching.

I want the owner's handbook that normally lives in the glove box; Oz Spec, UK Spec, or... anything in English for a 80 series with 1HD-T. I have saved searches running on the UK and Oz eBay sites, but nothing has come up - I assume that people think they're worthless so don't even think to list them.

My Cruiser won't be complete without one, so if nothing else comes up, I'll get a tranlsated one from JPNZ. The shipping is the same for 1 or 200; maybe others are interested in one too?

Thanks,
-Steve

guys,

I have a similar concern. Anyone of you have the the 1HD-T FSM, repair/owner's manual, electrical diagrams, autorepair manuals, and other toyota documentation available online or soft copy I can download?

Been looking for the english version of the 1HD-T fsm - but after countless searching in the Internet, all I'm to download is the French version: http://toyserie8.free.fr/Manuels_atelier/

Hope you can provide links where I can get the FSMs or users/owners manual.

Neowulf - pardon my ignorance - but how do I avail of this download feature? Do you have 1IHD-T manuals/info/service schedules that you can share? I have a 1990 1HD-T and it came with no manuals.

hope you can help.

Those translated Owner Manuals by JPNZ International are showing up on eBay pretty regularly now. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280103987207

I bought one from the same seller as above; it cost $46.65 CAD shipped from Malaysia; it took 16 days after auction end to arrive at my door.

The pictures are good and the translation is pretty good; better than some of the translated computer manuals I've read. There are a few humorous translations, like the section heading that reads "ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL SUSPENSION AND SKY HOOK TEMS"

BTW, found this "Idle Cool Off Time" section for turbo diesels:
Normal driving - no idle time required
High Speed Driving, Approx. 80 km/h - Approx. 20 seconds
High Speed Driving, Approx. 100 km/h - Approx. 1 minute
Hills, slopes at over 100 km/h - Approx. 2 minutes

It's probably not really worth the $, but I wanted one and I'm glad I bought it; LOL, it's not the most frivolous $50 I've ever spent.
