Not all Land Rovers are useless!
No not at all, the frame of the Sequoia alternator is slightly wider but identical in length, so rather that faffing around with the long bolt used to tension the belts, get rid of that and just use the adjuster bracket, I think I had to file the adjuster slot a little longer? Now assemble everything, and put a bar behind the alternator and gently pull it to get tension on the two belts and simply tighten, then retighten the lower bolt.Hi Dave,
When you say minor adjustment what did that entail? Drilling out more wiggle room?
Of note, check the sliding collar has bern pushed back into the mounting bracket, and also if the long bottom bolt has not been tightened correctly in the past, then it can wear the holes in the mounting bracket oval, the result is the tension on the two belts is not going to be even as it allows the alternator to 'lean in' at the front, the mounting bracket is easy to replace if need be, so check that it is good before fitting the new unit.
Regards
Dave.
