Want something inexpensive, designed for backyard bashing, and I don't want to do any soldering or custom work if at all possible.

Waterproof, long run times, torquey, and Ni-Cd Ni-MH and Li-Po abilities all wanted.

I just bought a used Axial AX-10 with a brushless motor a couple of days ago for MrBryan. They are out there if you keep an eye on CL and RCC.

theres a brushless losi CC in your home town for 300 or 150 without the brushless

Brushless, waterproof and cheap will be a tough combo...I've got a 18.5/Goat 3S setup in my Losi that works great, but it wasn't cheap and isn't waterproof.

A few seconds of online research tells me that brushless NON-sensored motors have the best chance of being waterproof...and even then, most companies will not state that.
