The old lady has tomorrow and wednesday off from work, and was thinking about just going for a drive with the little one ( almost 2) and was wandering where would be a great place to go with some nice scenery and a place where the kid could get out and play. Has to be a nice smooth ride because she doenst like going on bumpy rides. Wife not kid. any thoughts of where we could go. We live up on robb dr so i was thinking maybe a spot by the house or up by cabela's maybe. Thanks in advance for any tips and I look forward to meeting some of you at the next meeting.

Dog Valley sounds like it would fit the bill.
Or Verdi Peak.

I am going to second this one.

Head up Dog Valley Rd. when you get to the top, you can decide which way to go, most of the roads up there are easy 2wd stuff, but very scenic and there are meadows and other areas to get out and look around.

Verdi Peak look out is always cool, we like to see how far or if we can make it to the fire watch tower once the snow has hit. Once you make it, you can climb up the tower and get an amazing 360 degree view. Worth the climb and again barring any snow or other obstacles, pretty mellow road.

Hunter Lake Trail starts in Caughlin Ranch and comes out near Boomtown, I would think that would fit the bill for what you are looking for.

I was on Hunter Lake trail Labor Day weekend...and its anything but smooth. Fun...but not smooth.

thanks guys for the info. might have to go check out dog wednesday afternoon. doesnt seem to be any bad weather in the near future.

Yeah, also not a trail to run solo first time out since it is kind of confusing in places.
